D’hillbillies Mud Run

The D’hillbillies mud run is a 6 km muddy obstacle course that contestants can choose to do once or twice. The course is designed for men or women over the age of 18 who are reasonably fit. The event is being hosted by Mitchelstown Lions Club and all proceeds are in aid of Mercy Cancer Appeal. The event is held on Gortnahown Farm, Mitchelstown off Junction 13 M8 county cork. The next mud run will take place on the 22nd of October 2016. For more information check out these pages.  http://mudrun.mitchelstownlionsclub.ie/ this is the Facebook page and this is the charities page: http://mercyfundraising.ie/d-hillbillies-mud-run.html . At the moment D’Hillbillies mud run has a successful and good profile. There is a Facebook page which explains what it is,when and where it is on. When you search the event on google the facebook page will come up,the charities page will come up,Articles about successful mud runs in the previous years before this and the event even has an Identity on twitter #muckyformercy. However here are a couple of ways in which I think they could improve and maximize there profile. First of all, although D’Hillbillies mud run has an Identity on twitter it does not have a page of its own this is one thing that could add to the events profile. Although the event is being cross promoted by Mercy Cancer Foundation,Civil defense cork etc. A lot of the people that would have plenty of time to do a mud run are college students and teenagers. So in my opinion if the event was to be cross promoted by institutions such as L.I.T., C.I.T. or U.C.C. it would bring major attention to the event. It terms of teenagers cross promoting the event with popular radio stations such as spin south west etc. would be a fantastic way to grab the attention of teenagers that could participate.

Sporting personalities and social media

Cristiano Ronaldo finished second to Lionel Messi in the FIFA Balloon d’Or voting announced last month. Messi now leads Ronaldo five to three for the award that crowns the top soccer player in the world. The pair have had a stranglehold on the sport’s top honor for the past eight years. But when it comes to social media followings, Messi can’t touch Ronaldo.

Ronaldo became the first athlete to reach 200 million combined followers across TwitterTWTR -1.39%, Instagram and Facebook FB -0.67%, according to Hookit, which tracks and values the sports ecosystem on social and digital media. His social following is 64% larger than Messi’s, who is not on Twitter. Ronaldo became the first athlete to cross the 100 million barrier on Facebook in 2014, and today he is the third celebrity to cross the 200 million threshold across the three major platforms. Ronaldo joins Justin Bieber andTaylor Swift in the 200 million club.

The social breakdown for Ronaldo is 109.7 million fans on Facebook, 49.6 million on Instagram and 40.7 million on Twitter. Seven-four percent of his 41.8 million new followers in 2015 were on Instagram.

Creating a persona

Celebrities do it all the time. They disappear for a while and reappear with new clothing, new hairdos and entirely new personas. But the rich and famous don’t have a corner on the market of self-reinvention. With a little forethought and some imagination, you can reinvent yourself and take on an entirely new persona.

  • Think about your current persona. Assess your physical, emotional and mental characteristics. Notice which are contributing productively to your life and which are keeping you from developing in the way you would like. Decide which aspects of your current persona you would like to change and which you would like to keep.
  • Determine the new persona you would like to create for yourself. Be as specific as possible. Think about the persona that will be most conducive to a healthy and productive life. Decide whether you will need new clothing, a new haircut, a new body or a new speech style.
  • Revamp your appearance. After doing the initial assessments of Steps 1 and 2, make the outward changes that you will need for your new persona. Change your hairstyle and clothing in order to match your new persona.
  • Make internal changes. Remember that change must come from within and that you must make deep-seated changes to your emotions and personality in order for your new persona to feel fully three-dimensional.
  • Practice. At first, your new persona will not feel natural to you. You will need to constantly think about your reinvented self.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              persona-information-3

Building a personal brand

Personal branding is becoming increasingly important because modern audiences tend to trust people more than corporations. Audiences are used to seeing advertising everywhere, and tend to believe corporations and organizations take actions and speak with only sales in mind. Personal branding allows you to establish a reputation and an identity while still maintaining a personal level of trust and interaction, usually through social media.

Furthermore, people want to do business with other people, not with companies. Putting a strong personal brand on the frontline of your sales process can dramatically improve conversion rates.

Whether you use your personal brand to consult, freelance, or drive more traffic and trust to your company, it’s vitally important to establish one to stay competitive.
